The Woodhorn Group is a 140-year-old agricultural business with a range of diverse but interlinked operations including an organic farm and dairy herd, three waste management processing sites, consumer-focused garden products and business centre. In recent years the Group has diversified into new markets, including a renewable energy solar farm. A new venture to launch direct-to-consumer milk vending was also planned.
The Group was keen to develop more structure in its approach to marketing. We supported the management team with the creation of a marketing strategy, to properly position its brand hierarchy, identify target audiences and core messages and deliver regular activity. We began by reviewing and analysing online and offline activity before developing a strategy and brand hierarchy which reflected the current business model. Content plans are created and delivered to ensure regular and on brand messaging for the Group’s sub-divisions including blogs, social media posts and email campaigns. Internal communications were refreshed to ensure all employees understood key company developments. To support the launch of its fresh milk venture a co-ordinated marketing launch plan was created to include branding, graphics suite, PR and the development of a strong digital presence.
